Recycling

In each issue, we will highlight a topic and provide answers to common questions. Let us know what areas of airport operations are of interest to you.

Now, more than ever, is the time to seriously increase recycling efforts. Certain areas of the state are expecting increases in trash collection fees beginning in July due to necessary landfill expansions. This means affected counties must foot the bill and, ultimately, the bill will be passed on to residents and businesses. Although rates may go up, we are committed to protecting our tenants from potential rate hikes as much as possible.

Do you know where your airport's recycling bins are?

Reid-Hillview has barrels at the terminal building and wash rack, as well as the east end of hangar row I/J, the east end of row L/M, and the middle of row R/S. There is also a white dumpster for bulk recycling at the wash rack.

The following recyclable items are allowed in the bins:
  • Paper
  • Cardboard (please break-down boxes when you recycle)
  • Plastic
  • Glass
  • Styrofoam
We welcome your comments and suggestions with recycling tips and initiatives to protect the environment and help prevent increased costs.
