Formerly based at RHV, Magnum Aviation recently joined the family of
tenants at E16, providing full spectrum FBO services, as well as aircraft
sales and maintenance, from their new 12,500sf facility. Magnum also offers
full-service 100LL and JetA during business hours, along with a 24-hour
100LL self-serve island.
In addition, they have a complete pilot’s shop (also online) with just about
everything you need to take to the sky or as a gift for your favorite pilot.
Customer focused and driven by excellence, Magnum has teamed up with
West Valley Flying Club to provide aircraft rentals and flight training and
Enterprise Rent-A-Car to get you on the road when you fly in. Magnum’s general manager Andy
Rodenbeck and operations manager Mark Crouch invite you to stop by and say hello during South
County Airport Day on May 13, or any time you’re on the field.
Contact Magnum at (408) 683-4102 or visit them online at magnumaviation.com.
As most of us celebrated the holidays with food, family, and gifts, the members of
the RHVAA wanted to give something to those less fortunate in the community.
In a joint effort with staff at RHV, a collection barrel was placed in the terminal
lobby, and members solicited donations of toys from other pilots, as well as
non-flying friends, neighbors, and coworkers. The toy drive concluded with the
RHVAA annual Christmas party on December 21, where the mountain of donated
toys was on display.
The next day, Association members Frank (far right) and Sharon Sweeney and RHV
staff member Patrick McGuinness delivered the bags of toys to two surprised and
appreciative fire fighters at the station on the west side of the airport. According
to the fire fighters, there are many underprivileged children in the neighborhood
for whom these toys might be their only Christmas gifts. They explained how
residents come to the station looking for donated toys, and they personally witness
the need when they’re out on calls.
Just as the airports are an integral part of their communities, the communities are also an integral part of the airports. Through
the generosity of RHVAA members, airport staff, volunteers, and all those who donated, the fire fighters were able to provide some holiday cheer to
local children, members of the RHV community, who might otherwise go without.
Thanks to everyone who participated for providing a shining example of what the Christmas spirit is all about!
